About Robert (Bob) Amirault:
Bob Amirault was born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, in 1938. He is a self taught painter working who works in a representational style. Bob paints landscapes, seascapes and figures in both oil and water colour.
Many of Bob’s paintings are created on location is different parts of Canada. His larger paintings are created in his home, studio using the plein air studies and other reference materials he’s gathered on his travels.
As with many other trained and self taught artists, Bob is constantly exploring his medium and process. An avid educator, hosting instruction for many schools and art groups, he has spent much time taking workshops at well known art schools in Canada as well as the US.
